For the Neue Nationalgalerie, an icon of 20th-century architectural history, after almost 50 years of use it was time to comprehensively refurbish the building and, among other things, adapt the building services to contemporary standards. In doing so, requirements related to heritage conservation, sustainability, and architecture had to be taken into account. These and other challenges that arose before and during the construction phase were overcome through the use of LEAN methods and the involvement of external specialists. After a construction period of nine years, the handover date was successfully met through a joint collective effort.

“The collaboration with COOR was consistently positive for me. I was particularly impressed by the combination of professional expertise and pragmatic, solution-oriented thinking – exactly what is needed in complex projects. The greatest challenge for the project was achieving a precise cost forecast under constantly changing conditions and tight deadlines. The high level of complexity resulting from multiple trades and the integration of sustainable standards played a key role here. COOR not only supported us with precise cost analyses, but also ensured – through proactive consulting and clear recommendations for action – that we were always able to make the right decisions.”
